The hotel’s MIT location made it easy to walk around, and the staff were kind, professional, and clearly knew hospitality. Several people stood out, especially the bartender and server, whose personality really suited the place. The dinner menu was good for a limited selection, while breakfast was basic but filling. My room was small and cute, the bed was comfortable, and it was noisy at night. My stay was seriously affected by the hotel shutting off heat throughout the property. I visited around April 20, when Boston was still cold. I was told they weren’t legally required to provide heat after April 15. Even if that’s true, it’s a poor standard for a hotel. Guests shouldn’t have to stay in cold rooms just because the property no longer has a legal obligation to heat them. There were no space heaters. Extra blankets didn’t help much, especially when showering or getting ready. I ended up wearing two robes over a sweatsuit in my room and was still cold. That wasn’t the boutique hotel experience I expected. The staff were lovely and the service culture was strong, but the lack of heat made the stay uncomfortable and disappointing. Legal minimums aren’t hospitality.

The hotel’s historic character made it beautiful, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable, with great bedding. We came with my husband and our two 12-year-old boys for a family trip and had a wonderful time. The staff were outgoing and friendly, and the location was great, with easy access to the T and Ubers. Breakfast was delicious and included, and the high-end Dyson hair dryer was a fun surprise. Parking felt safe and was a great rate. We couldn’t recommend the place more and will definitely be back.

The location is a real plus, right next to MIT and convenient for Boston and the surrounding area. The rooms were nice, if a bit overdone in that kitsch-chic way. Staff were mostly apathetic and not especially friendly. We’d booked a room with a sofa bed and were told to open it ourselves. That wasn’t a problem, but for $700 they could have made more effort. Breakfast was generic at best, mostly preheated and boring. It’s a lovely little hotel, but based on our stay, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The manager made sure every detail was right while we were there for our friend’s memorial service. The staff provided great customer service, and the breakfast was lovely. It’s a beautiful Cambridge hotel, right across from the train station.

The staff were always helpful and had good ideas for how to spend the day, including dinner at Row 34 right next door. The Kendall felt comfortable and welcoming throughout our stay. We loved the beds and linens, and the full breakfast had everything we needed. The lobby was a nice place to eat, play cards, or just sit around. It’s in a great spot next to MIT and subway stations. Highly recommend.
