The Norfolk room was adorable and very clean, and we loved the balcony looking over the garden and the big jacuzzi tub. There were fresh flowers waiting in the room too. Breakfast tasted fresh and was delicious. The location worked well for us, with downtown shops and restaurants in walking distance and Camden Hills State Park a short drive away. Ted and Lisa were lovely hosts. My partner and I really enjoyed the stay and hope to return.

The peaceful grounds and river sounds made breakfast especially lovely, and the morning walks near the water and around downtown were beautiful. My husband and I stayed at Hawthorn Inn after our wedding, during a very busy weekend, but Lisa and Ted made everything feel calm and easy. They were great to communicate with while we planned, and both they and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Our room was spotless with amazing views, and all the little details at the inn were thought through. We’re already arranging another stay and can’t wait to make more memories at Hawthorn. Thanks again, Lisa and Ted!

Ted and Lisa made us feel so welcome and looked after from the start. After I booked, Tim and Lisa emailed right away with stay details and asked about dietary needs. I said we preferred plant-based food and asked for soy milk. When we arrived that afternoon, Ted had made vegan chocolate cookies, and breakfast was just as thoughtful: separate dishes like vegan blueberry pancakes and tofu stir fry, all spectacular. Lisa was also a great source of tips for hikes, shops, sightseeing, and dinner. Our Cabriolet room was roomy and comfortable, with a bay view and a huge bathtub we used every night. I loved the breakfast nook and the library full of books in the main house. We were in Camden to visit our daughter at BU, see fall colors, and explore the Northeast. Camden was a handy base, a few hours from Bar Harbor and an easy drive to other coastal port towns. We enjoyed the shops, hikes, leaf peeping, and the area's quaint feel. I highly recommend Hawthorn Inn and Camden for anyone who values comfort and hospitality.

We were in town for the National Toboggan Championships at the Camden Snow Bowl, and this was an ideal place to stay. Lisa was accommodating and easy to reach. The inn is handy for getting to the Snow Bowl, and town is walkable for food or shopping. Our room was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful extras like robes and Maine magazines. The gas wood stove made it cozy, and the harbor view was beautiful. We’d happily come back.

I was traveling with a group, and they treated all of us like old friends. My carriage house room was quiet and felt like a little retreat, with plenty of space, coffee ready, and a lovely porch overlooking the water. Lisa and Ted were great hosts, and breakfast was superb. Hard to do better than Hawthorn Inn. Go, you’ll be happy.
