Americas Best Value Inn - Cameron

The manager greeted us and checked us in, and was so nice. For our first stay at a Red Roof, it was a great first impression. The room was spotless, quiet, and comfortable, and the bed was super. Breakfast was good and the coffee was very good too. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was and would stay here again.

There was a dead little beetle in the clean room, so I guess the pesticide is doing its job. It did have an odd smell, though. The staff were nice, and there are a few restaurants nearby, but not much else around. We skipped breakfast, though there’s a small area with breakfast and coffee. A good fit if you’re just passing through.

The bathtub was cracked, and there was no elevator. I’m a disabled veteran and had a 50-pound suitcase plus a carry-on to haul to the third floor, so it was miserable. I was already struggling through the snow just to get my bags from the disabled parking to the entrance, while the front desk guy watched me through the window instead of offering help. Then he checked me in on the third floor. Pancakes were the only hot breakfast item, but the machine didn’t work. The service was very bad. I’ll post about this on Expedia and Google.

I come here several times a year, and they always greet me by name. They’re helpful when I ask for a particular room, and the rooms are clean and well kept. The staff are really friendly, and it has a homey feel. I won’t stay anywhere else.
