GuestHouse Acorn Inn

We picked this place because it allows pets, and we’ll be back. I’m staying here now and the room is clean, a good size, and easy to get around in. It’s a great room for the price, with a tasty free breakfast and helpful, lovely staff.

There was plenty of room to park our boat, which made things easy, and I’d stay here again. The room was spotless with new carpet, though the hotel itself looks a little dated. The rubber mat in the tub was pretty nasty, so we put it aside. Breakfast was cooked fresh with real eggs, which they seemed proud of, but they sometimes ran out and we had to wait while more was made. It was good, hot food, and the room was quiet.

After vehicle trouble further along the trip, I’m sitting in another motel and wishing I were back at Acorn. The beds were so comfortable, and our room had nice linens and was clean. It’s affordable, welcoming to kids and pets, and I understand why people rate it so well. I’d turn around and stay there again tonight if I could. Trying not to cry!

You park right at the door, so unloading and packing up were easy. I expected basic small-town amenities, but this place felt much more upscale, with good linens, lots of light, a flat-screen TV with plenty of channels, nice hair products, and Wolfgang Puck coffee for the in-room maker. The bed was comfy, everything was very clean, and breakfast was great. It was quiet too. I’d put it in the same class as Comfort Suites or Holiday. Only thing I missed was an outlet near the computer table.
