That little pond with egg chairs and food for the ducks and fish was a lovely touch, and we really enjoyed the peaceful stream from our balcony. We had a great weekend at Laurel Cottage, especially cozy evenings by the fireplace. A few comfort things kept it at four stars for me. The bed felt too firm, the pillows were higher than I like, and you could hear the springs a bit. The porch lights stayed on the first night, so the room was brighter than ideal. Maybe I could have asked about it, but I didn’t. We covered the window with a blanket the next night. An eye mask and your own pillow would sort out most of this, so none of it should put you off. It’s a beautiful, relaxing spot for a quiet weekend.

The staff were spectacular, and the cabin was gorgeous with stunning views. I came for a few nights with friends for a girls weekend and was happy with everything the place and surrounding area had to offer. We also booked appointments at the sister location spa. Such a relaxing stay at this hidden gem, and I’ll be back!

Cheyenne was a huge part of why our wedding at Magnolia went so well. She was sharp, organized, and knew her stuff. Her suggestions saved me a lot, and she was honest and upfront while doing what she could to ease the pressure. She stayed attentive through the whole process, and I felt she cared about me as a person, not just as a client. On the day, she made room for my husband and me in the bustle and helped with whatever we or the wedding party needed. She never felt like a stranger, and I trusted her to handle any mishap. I highly recommend her planning services, even if you don’t use the venue. We had about 60 guests, which filled the space nicely. I think Magnolia suits smaller, intimate weddings better, and I can’t quite picture 120 people fitting on the dance floor. I also wouldn’t bring in a lot of vendors and tech, since I think that would clash with the space. We rented cabins for the wedding party and really enjoyed having the rooms and extra time to soak up the weekend. The property is easy to walk around but large enough to find lots of lovely photo spots, so make use of it. I’d nearly given up after a discouraging venue search when I came across Magnolia. I worried the gorgeous pictures were misleading, since the outside doesn’t look like much as you drive up. But inside it felt like a fairytale. We fell in love right away, and our guests were stunned. The place feels rustic and secluded, like you’re somewhere in the woods with the river all around, while the elegance Magnolia has added makes it feel even more dreamlike. I can’t imagine our wedding being more beautiful or peaceful, and I’m grateful to all the staff at Magnolia for taking care of us.

Our boys, ages 5-11, loved playing in the woods where we could see them from the balcony of the Treetop suite. My husband and I enjoyed morning coffee out there with the nature view. We were a family of six, and all of us had a great time during our October stay. The room was quaint, with cozy beds and a gas fireplace that warmed it well. Being tucked into the woods beside a peaceful stream was delightful. A little slice of heaven, and I hope we can come back.

We’re getting married at Magnolia in August, so we went in for dinner to try the restaurant now that it’s open. The food and service were great. The chef let us taste the eggplant Parmesan before we chose our wedding menu, and I wish I’d ordered it as my entree. We’ll definitely return to eat outside once the patio opens at the end of the month.
