Days Inn by Wyndham Ashland

The staff made this a reasonably comfortable stay. The front desk lady and the cleaning crew were genuinely welcoming and ready to help. The rooms were clean and looked cared for, though they need updating, especially the dated bathrooms. The pool was disappointing to look at, since it could have been a nice amenity. It isn't a modern hotel, but I had a pretty good experience overall despite those things.

We needed rooms for the night before a funeral, and both turned out to be very subpar. Mold was on the ceiling, in the shower, and along the walls in the bathroom and the room I stayed in. Breakfast was already gone when we came down around 8:45-9:00, while workers were collecting plates as we came down the stairs. There were a couple of English muffins left, but they were hard and didn't seem fresh. It was a bad experience all around.

The bathroom had hair in the tub and there were no towels in the room. At check-in, we had to wake the desk agent, who was asleep with food all over him and the counter, and he seemed annoyed that we needed him to check us in. We were staying here during the week with our company. The next day I spoke with Tommy at the desk, but he wasn't helpful and seemed more interested in speaking badly about other employees than helping the guest in front of him. This hotel is a joke. Run, don't waste your money.

The staff were awesome and very friendly, and the room was spacious. The bed was really comfortable, the shower pressure was great, and the A/C worked amazingly. Getting my 83ft semi into the place was tight from the main road, and clearing the storage unit on the corner was a squeeze too. There is decent room to turn around in the back if you're the first one there. If people park their cars along the driveway, though, you can't get back there and getting out gets even harder. Even with that, I was very impressed with the hotel.
