Holiday Inn Express Ashland

The whole place was extremely clean, except for the tables in the eating area, and the room itself was nice and quiet. The people were great, check-in and checkout were smooth and professional, and I slept comfortably through the night. Breakfast was a letdown. The pancake, oatmeal, and juice machines were all broken. They'd run out of cereal bowls and coffee cups too. The available food was second-rate gas station stuff and a few hot items that weren't appealing or very good, so we had to find something else. I'd recommend the hotel aside from the breakfast, just don't expect a decent meal.

I've been coming here since it first opened, and other hotels I've tried just haven't matched its quality or cleanliness. The breakfast has a good range, from protein-heavy choices to a carb overload. The staff are genuinely friendly, courteous, kind, and helpful. Thanks for sticking with quality service.

There are two water-damage holes in the ceiling, and the couch has a white crusty smear on it. The TV points downward and couldn't be adjusted to face forward. Its remote only worked when held behind the TV. They apparently don't provide disposable toiletries like face wipes or individual soaps, which was disappointing and new to us. Ricky was unhelpful. She was on a personal call, and when I said I could wait if she needed to finish, she gestured for me to go ahead but stayed on the phone while I asked for soap and an extra pillow. She said the room already had pillows and she couldn't access more. I've never had trouble getting an extra pillow at a Holiday Inn, or had this kind of issue at another hotel. We can usually overlook things like this, but not with such poor service piled on top of the room problems.

The front office ladies were nice, and the cleaning crew were friendly too. The rooms have been renovated, so don't freak out. Breakfast was spot on. It's a decent place to lay down for the night. Good work, y'all, and thank you.
