The mattress was comfortable and the room itself was clean, but the service was awful and the pillows were terrible. Nobody checked whether we needed anything during our four-night stay, and the bins got so full they overflowed. We had to go to the office for towels and hope there were clean ones. The shower went cold every 10 seconds, and everything in the room felt damp. I’ve stayed at nearly every motel in Ocracoke, but the others were booked for Memorial Day weekend, so we ended up here. Now I understand why they had rooms available. No daily room care at all is completely unacceptable.

The harbor views and island feel were lovely, and the bed was great. Check-in was unusual: nobody was in the office, but a basket held envelopes with our names and room numbers, along with our welcome packet and two keys. The room was clean and updated, though the hotel exterior looks dated. The A/C struggled a bit and the TV picture was fuzzy.

The owners and staff were really friendly, and the place easily met our expectations. It’s in a perfect spot on the island, even if the style is a little older. I’d happily stay again if I get the chance, and hope I do.

Craig was so helpful getting us docked and then back out. We spent two nights at this marina in Ocracoke on our sailboat. The showers were clean, and there was a good place to walk our dog. Can’t wait to return!

Laid-back feel and old-school charm make this a great place, even if some things are dated. The location is handy too, right across from a nice restaurant, about 200 feet from an ice cream and fudge shop, and close to the Cedar Island Ocracoke ferry terminal.
