The Castle B&B on Silver Lake Harbor

The Castle was a lot of bang for the bucks, and I'd happily stay there again. The recent remodel has calming colors throughout, and the place is clean, decorated for serenity, and has a comfortable community room with couches and chairs. There's plenty to do, including breakfast with lots of choices, swimming, billiards, and bike riding. The dock and the view from the 360 observation deck are beautiful. Charming village shops and the original lighthouse are within walking distance. Ocracoke also has an ocean beach, fun places to eat or fine dining, and boat rides.

We stayed over Mothers Day weekend, and I have only good things to say. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast staff were very helpful. I had some concerns after the renovations, but I'd recommend staying here. 5/5.

We loved sitting at the dock across the street with our early morning coffee and watching the sunrise. The hot breakfast was delicious, and the two chefs served it so kindly. The Castle is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind inn, cozy but elegant, with gorgeous woodwork. We had a delightful stay and will definitely be back!

I loved The Castle under the previous ownership, but the new owners painted away the comfort and charm I used to love. It looks plain and boring now, and I don't like the renamed rooms. I won't be staying there anymore.
