Nearby food spots are the one good thing here. The rooms were dirty when we arrived, including the shower, walls, and couch, and the place smelled strongly of cigarettes despite being labeled non-smoking. Cleaning service didn’t come in even though I left a note on the door. Dogs are allowed, and they barked all day and night. The toilet sits very low and clogs easily. Don’t book here.

Would you expect a refund after leaving early because the first room’s shower didn’t work and the water in the second room wouldn’t get hot? I gave the place another chance and changed rooms, but still couldn’t get hot water. I wanted a full or half refund, and emailed a manager as I tried to keep things mature and professional. No reply came, even after I called. I’ve still received no response. I’ve never before had to switch rooms and then switch hotels because of the amenities. If you’re considering staying here, choose somewhere else. Courtyard Marriott might be worth it, or maybe Doubletree, but not this place.

Expedia’s photos were misleading, and I regret booking. The lobby looked upgraded, but our room was run-down, with chipped paint, bathroom water stains, and a shower curtain that looked like it belonged in the 1950s. Cockroaches kept coming in and out of both the bathroom and the room. The rooms smelled of smoke, and we saw people smoking as we entered the hotel. The elevator was so slow to work that every time we got in, we held our breath and hoped we’d get out. I agree with other reviewers that a health inspection is needed, especially on the fifth floor and around how continental breakfast is served. Management hasn’t dealt with serious problems, whether because of a lack of funding or because they’ve ignored the need for updates. This hotel has potential, but think twice before staying. I’ll choose the hotel across the street next time.

For an overpriced hotel, the free breakfast and convenient location were about the only positives. There was a gym, though it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The neighborhood didn’t feel great, and once it gets dark you probably shouldn’t walk out alone. Water dripped down every floor of the stairwell. I saw a roach scurry across the floor, and the shower head didn’t work, so you had to use an attachment to wash. For what you get, it costs too much. This should be called a motel, and Wyndham’s claim to these hotels drags down its whole luxury image.
