The one good thing was the Wi-Fi, and there are several food services nearby. Otherwise, I’d tell people to never visit this location. There’s too much foot traffic, there was no breakfast, the pool had been out of service for multiple summers, and the roach problem was awful. I had nowhere else to go at the time, but I’ve finally gotten out from under their thumbs and can speak up. Nothing on the website is true. I stayed at econolodge for eight months with my two small children. Three women on staff were always nice and good to work with, and some staff were attentive, but management was downright disrespectful. They didn’t deal with room problems like roaches or smoke alarms, despite repeated requests over months. I paid nearly $1,600 a month, yet they wouldn’t even change a smoke detector battery. For four straight months there wasn’t a detector at all, after they removed it. Half the “housekeepers” barely did their jobs, and when they did, it was only halfway. They never changed my linens or towels. The roaches were there the first night and just got worse, though they kept trying to blame me. I kept the room very tidy because of the kids. One worker gave my name and room number to two men I didn’t know, against policy. That same worker put parking lot trash on my car’s hood, assuming it was mine. During one of my first weeks at a new job, I wasn’t paid on time because of my employer. I’d already been there six months when management came into my room yelling for me to leave. I explained what happened, and we talked it through: they said it was okay and I’d pay once I got my paycheck. Then they kept harassing me for money and wouldn’t replace my things out of spite. On several occasions, they popped the door lock while my children and I were asleep just to bother me with questions that had nothing to do with them. I cleaned the room myself, so they didn’t need to come in to change linens or towels. They singled me out, a single mom trying to make ends meet.

The service was good, and the location is okay, I guess, since it’s close to the interstate. In room #217, though, the heater wouldn’t keep the room warm. The TV remote was covered in tape and almost broken, though it still worked. I also had to clean lint out of the clogged heating and air vents.

A decent price and a clean room. It’s an okay motel, with easy access on and off I-65. Restaurants are around the area, and shopping and gas are close too.

I had to move rooms and carry my elderly 55-pound dog slowly up to the second floor, using a sling, one stair at a time. The first room, 123, smelled like animal urine, had torn curtains and a bedspread with holes. A small dog in the next room barked continuously. I told the front desk, and the response was, “dogs bark.” The dog had been left alone, and was probably why the room smelled of urine. There was a gap in the locked connecting door. Room 213 upstairs was nicely updated, but I’ll never stay there again.

The room was already in bad shape, yet they still asked for a $50 deposit in case you damage it. This place needs a lot of repairs.
