If you can find an inexpensive room, this is a decent low-budget option. It’s tucked away somewhere quiet, and one of the women at the desk was very helpful. There’s breakfast, drinks, an ice machine, a pool, and a hot tub. There’s no elevator, but the building is only two stories. My room had two beds, a refrigerator, TV, microwave, tub, hot shower, sink, toilet, and three or four lamps plus a ceiling light by the doorway. The heat worked well in cold weather. I didn’t try the air conditioner in the cold. There’s a coin-operated washer and dryer, plus a laundromat across the street on 21st street. They have two luggage carts. There are cords coming out of the wall and plugged into the outlets for the wall lamps.

Update: Manager Sam apologized and was very sympathetic. He refunded my entire stay. It took some time, but in the end he took responsibility and did what was needed. The room itself was disgusting, not just old or dingy. The bathtub was dirty, with hair and a sludge ring, the toilet was in disrepair and barely flushed, and there were dirty towels behind the bathroom door. It’s a budget hotel, but that doesn’t make being visibly run down and having things broken okay. The front desk woman was very helpful and did what she could, but the damage was done. I planned to call Sam that day to ask what he thought was appropriate. It costs less, but I’ll never stay here again. Gross.

The rooms are quite dated, but the bed was extremely comfortable and everything else was clean. I’d stay again if my usual hotel in the area didn’t have a room. The bathtub was dirty, so I bought cleaner and scrubbed it and the surrounding walls before using it. I alerted the staff, and they apologized, but didn’t offer to have it cleaned for me. The mini fridge worked, and the microwave was handy. The in-room organic coffee was pretty good after I heated water and steeped it like tea, since the coffee pot hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while.

The room’s fridge had a freezer section that was unusable because frost covered about 90% of it. The furniture looked visibly worn, and the hotel needs better upkeep and updating. We were very disappointed to learn at check-in for our three-night stay that the pool and hot tub weren’t available.
