Luana Nai'a Inn

Breakfast wasn’t provided, and the room we’d booked wasn’t available. Cats scratched at our door all night and kept us awake. There were ants all over the shower and floors. We left after the first night, and no refund was offered. It ruined a day of our honeymoon.

The host was friendly and helpful, but changing the breakfast policy wasn’t within her responsibilities. The place has the potential to be a real gem, but the advertised “free breakfast” is now just a welcome basket with fruit and cookies. Granola and milk would have been enough for me, but I had to buy them myself. I booked through Hawaiian Airlines, so I’m going to request a partial refund.

I spent an amazing ten days at Luanna Inn and have already booked another visit in April, hoping to see the humpback whales again. The bay view from the lanai is especially wonderful during whale watching season. The place feels private and elite while still being affordable, and the grounds are impeccable. The property is pristine, the rooms are prestigious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Each morning, the plentiful breakfast was a feast for the eyes and satisfying to eat, with fresh pineapple from the hillside. The fragrant plumeria and Hawaiian music made the stay feel even more special.

Torri, the property manager, is amazing. She puts together fantastic breakfast spreads and is fun to hang out and chat with. The rooms are affordable, but pretty dated, bare-bones, and nothing special. From the pool, the view is beautiful, and the Inn is near some good local food and a great snorkel spot, Two Step.
