Old Iron Inn Bed and Breakfast

Kate really is THE MUFFIN QUEEN, and she even takes requests. We loved the huge, unbelievably soft towels, and the built-in bathroom shelf in The Rose Room made it easy to keep our toiletries tidy and within reach. That room was lovely. The hosts were welcoming, the rooms spotless, breakfast delicious, and the location handy. It’s nice having a grocery store right across the street for anything forgotten or used up on the trip. My only complaint is that there’s no AC in the rooms. We happened to arrive during an unusually warm spell, though that probably doesn’t happen often, and the ceiling fan was enough once the sun went down. While you’re in the area, you must eat at Burger Boy and visit Monica’s Scandinavian Gifts.

Breakfast was amazing every day, and honestly my favorite part of staying at The Old Iron Inn. Kevin and Kate were wonderful hosts, and our room was very clean. We had such a fun, comfortable, relaxing stay and felt very safe. We’d love to come back!

The muffins were some of the best I’ve ever had, and there was plenty more at breakfast to get the day started. Kevin and Kate are warm, dedicated hosts and true Mainers, full of local knowledge. We had great conversations about Caribou and could keep asking questions as long as we wanted, or until we got too tired after a day of exploring. The accommodations are warm and welcoming, and more than comfortable enough, especially in winter. Breakfast is delicious, too.

Kevin and Kate are personable hosts, the real kind you get at a B&B, unlike Air B&B. The rooms were clean and really comfortable, with a perfect bed and pillows. Breakfast was delicious, and I even got strawberry muffins made with fresh-picked strawberries from the patch right out front. The B&B is charming and ideally placed in Caribou, with easy access to everything in town.
