I was recovering from major surgery nine days before we arrived, so I thought convalescing in CA might be better than freezing in SD. I still dream about getting to enjoy the gorgeous tubs, showers, pools, and hot tubs at Aviara. Pack your inner mermaid! 🧜♀️ This review is very late, but we stayed five nights in December, 2025 for a concrete conference, and Aviara was my favorite hotel to date. The rooms were spectacular, cozy, and homey. The grounds were gorgeous and fun to explore, and the bars and restaurants were drool-worthy. Thank you for such a beautiful stay! ❤️ The staff was fantastic, and I owe a few long-overdue shout-outs. Victoria at reception helped us with extra blankets and always had the best smile. Kellie, the pool attendant and bartender, brought us the most delicious coconuts to drink. 🥥 We were lucky to be there for work, so Aviara catered several events during our stay. Michael, one of the tasting tray servers, was an absolute star at every one. His job involves moving through event crowds while presenting and naming different foods, which can't be easy. I saw him being kind and committed to doing his best on several occasions. I hope he hears this and gets a raise. He really deserves it! ❤️🌟

The staff made this phenomenal stay the best part of our anniversary. Huge shout-out to Christian S. at the front desk, who went the extra mile every day with room surprises, handwritten notes, and food recommendations. Everything else was five-star too: the rooms, amenities, and location. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. It couldn't get better.

We spent Memorial weekend here with our kids, ages 5 and 3, and the hotel was really nice and catered to them. The adults-only pool was open to all ages that weekend. There was a themed buffet breakfast with visits from Spider-Man and Elsa characters, plus a bounce house set up on one of the days. Highly recommend it for a family getaway. It's 15 minutes from Carlsbad city, which has a great downtown for eating and other things.

The pool was one of my favorite parts: it's large, clean, and we spent a lot of time enjoying it. The room was comfortable, well kept, and had everything we needed, so the whole visit felt easy and pleasant. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing, a lovely place to rest. The front desk staff member was patient, gentle, and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile and making check-in smooth. We had a very happy stay, would definitely recommend it, and would love to come back.

We ate at two of the restaurants, and both were fantastic. The building has a great view of the ocean from the back, and the grounds are well kept. There are a couple of very nice pools, plus an 18-and-older pool a short walk away with a really great view. Everyone we passed was nice and helpful, and the views are stunning wherever you are. This is probably one of the best hotels I've been to. We can't wait to go back.
