A really peaceful spot, just a few blocks from the main street, with covered parking and an elevator. Our room had a balcony facing the ocean, so we could watch the sunset and hear the waves when we left the door open. There was a fireplace too. We didn’t need it, but I can imagine it being great in winter.

We had a great time at the Adobe Inn in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Jean made check-in quick and friendly, and we felt welcome right away. I liked the old-fashioned keys, which suit the inn’s cozy feel. The location made it easy to wander Carmel’s shops, galleries, restaurants, and lovely streets. Our room was huge, with a living room, a large bedroom with two queen beds, two full bathrooms, and two private balconies where we could enjoy the coastal air. It was clean and quiet, with plenty of comfort and space for the price. It isn’t a five-star luxury hotel, but we weren’t paying $1,000 a night, either. We’re already thinking about coming back.

The rooms are much bigger than what you usually get in newer hotels, and the price makes sense for the space and location. It’s close to Carmel’s restaurants and shops, and only a few blocks from La Playa. Walking back from the beach does involve a small hill, but it wasn’t too bad. There’s no food service, and you have to request turn-down service.

A quiet, easy stay in a large main-level room with a king bed, gas fireplace, and patio. The underground parking felt safe and had plenty of space. Restaurants, shops, and the beach were all easy to get to.
