Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived Sunday after 3, but the front desk lady gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was very good, and suggested things to do. She was helpful. Casa De Carmel was perfect for the two of us, with a comfy king-sized bed and a very clean bathroom. We loved our stay and will return when we visit beautiful Carmel.

Across the street there's a beautiful park with two play areas, one for little kids and one for older ones, plus a big pool, lots of lawn, and a large rentable BBQ setup. The hotel itself had lovely flowers, especially the tall, waving hollyhocks that were rioting when we visited. Nice owners, great history, sparkling pool, and nice accommodations with a private, cottage-like feel.

It's basic, clean, and has what you need, unless a good night's sleep matters. The walls are paper thin.
