Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave

The location was perfect, and the Diptyque toiletries were a nice touch, but after four nights the room left me disappointed. The walls were so thin that I could hear neighbors talking, and a dog barking at 7 am while I was trying to rest. They charge a pet fee, so I wonder what guests who hear the barking are meant to get in return. Even after renovation, the room felt like a cardboard box or tin can. The rooms are small for the price and have no natural light unless you open the shutters, which means giving up privacy. The complimentary water bottles on the first day were never replenished, even though the room was serviced. At night the room was incredibly cold; when I asked for a heater, an employee said it was because of the cold weather and how many people were staying. The Diptyque products couldn't make up for the hotel's quality. To me it felt like an old motel with a fresh coat of paint in some Farrow & Ball Colors. It looked pretty, but that was about it. I paid $400 a night including the amenity fee, and would book somewhere else.

The continental breakfast was nice, and the employee looking after that area was courteous and helpful. Check-in went smoothly, and customer service was great throughout. The hotel and rooms were very clean, with cute decor. It's a charming, quiet place with a lovely vibe, and I had a comfortable stay.

The breakfast was delicious, just the right size, and included products from local businesses. I went with a girlfriend for one night and really enjoyed the property. It's a charming hotel right in downtown Carmel. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated and extremely clean, with thoughtful touches like cookies and chocolates to welcome us. There were Nespresso coffee and tea pods, plus a good range of snacks and treats to buy. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets smelled lovely, and the bathroom products were good quality. We loved the place and will definitely come back!

A great location for walking downtown Carmel, and very accommodating service. Breakfast and bikes were nice amenities. Parking is on the street, so I'd recommend calling before your stay.
