Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carrizo Springs by IHG

Water leaked through the roof all over my room, including my clothes and computer, and nobody even apologized. The room smelled of mildew, and I’m still waiting for a refund of the money they took after I checked out. The hotel staff weren’t the problem. Management should be fired. Absolutely terrible experience, do not stay here.

The room was clean, the staff were great, and the price was better than what I’d been quoted at other places. They also had a free breakfast with lots of options. I called at 10:30 at night and arrived by 11, and I couldn’t have been happier to find a room at the last minute. I’d definitely stay again.

At checkout, the night attendant was nice, but couldn’t print my bill. I need a receipt for expenses, so I’ll have to go back and hopefully get a copy. The room itself was clean, but it wasn’t up to the Holiday Inn standard I’m used to. There was no coffee or shampoo, just one small bar of soap, and nobody recognized me as a Priority Club member or mentioned my status. The hotel costs three times as much as other Holiday Inns in the area while offering half the service and comfort. I won’t stay again. If I can’t get a room in Carrizo Springs, I’ll drive an hour somewhere else.

I paid $856.64 for two nights, and by the morning of the second day there was no water. I couldn’t flush the commode or shower, and the water was still out when I left the next day. I called three different times asking to speak with the manager, but he wouldn’t take my calls. Someone at the front desk screened them and said the water was out all over town and the hotel wasn’t responsible. I was only asking for a break on the $400-a-night charge or some points, but they weren’t willing to work with me at all.
