Carrizozo Inn

After 12 hours on the road, room #8 was just what we needed: quiet, cozy, and good for a night’s sleep. We had a lovely chat with the owner about plants, and the laughs and friendly conversation were a treat. The plants in the office reminded me of the ones I keep at home. The bathroom remodels look good, and although the rooms are simple, they suited us perfectly. This isn’t a place for swimming or luxury, but it feels safe, authentic, and personal, not like you’re just another “valued member.” We’d stay again. While you’re here, visit Valley of Fire recreation area, try one of the three local restaurants, and support the family run businesses.

That seasonal peppermint hand soap was a cute touch. The room was clean and clearly looked after with pride, and the bed was comfortable. The TV was good, too, and there’s a place to eat just a stone’s throw away. The woman who runs the place was polite and kind to my husband.

The owner was so sweet and helpful, and the room was very clean with a comfortable bed. There weren’t many places for my service dog to go to the bathroom, though. I had a great stay otherwise and would come back.

I spent 3 days here in October 2024. The location was great, with a gas station next door and a great restaurant across the street. The rooms were nice and clean.
