Liberty Mountain Lodging by Vail Resorts

We had a blast tubing down the hill, and the staff we met were all really nice and helpful. A shuttle took us from the parking lot to the tubing area, and there are food options around if you or the kids get hungry. It was a fun outing for adults and children alike. It costs about $50 for two hours of riding. Just to be clear, I'm reviewing snow tubing only. My friends and I came for the day and didn't stay at the resort.

Rakim taught my snowboarding lesson, with Pete shadowing him, and they were both a big help. I booked a group lesson, but it was basically private, so we got lots of runs and learning in during our two hours. I'm coming back to riding after a 10-year break and still have things to practice. Once they stick, I'll book another lesson to keep progressing. On my first visit to Liberty last Monday, the trails were in good shape and the lift ticket price was hard to beat. It's only about an hour from my house, and my son and I had a great time. This review is only about skiing, snowboarding, and lessons. Highly recommend!

The lifts usually move quickly, so it's easy to get plenty of runs in. I like the park features, and the terrain is fun whether I'm with friends or working on my skills. It's a great mountain for getting laps in, especially for a day trip from Maryland or southern PA.

From the parking lot through the restaurant and on to the lifts, you can tell it's crowded, but everything feels organized and the staff are friendly and helpful. Being close to the DMV, the resort naturally gets busy. The food stood out too, with rice bowls alongside the usual ski resort junk food.
