Days Inn Carroll

The rooms were spacious, there were no bugs, and both the AC and hot water worked. Breakfast was okay, but waffles were the only hot option. The pool and hot tub were great, and there’s plenty of space for a truck and trailer in the parking area behind the hotel.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and breakfast was very good. There were waffles, a full range of cold items, and eggs you could microwave. The rooms were modern, comfortable, spotless, and quiet. Probably the nicest Days Inn I’ve stayed in. It can compete with pricier brands like Comfort Inn. With a complete hot breakfast, it would be close to Hampton and Holiday Inn Express.

The hotel was updated and clean, and I liked the note left under our door each morning asking whether we needed clean towels or anything else done in the room. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout. They let us check in early, helped us switch rooms when the air conditioner wasn’t working right, printed a document for me, and brought fresh coffee when I asked because it had run out. Next time we’re in Carroll, Iowa, we’ll stay at the Days Inn again.

The staff were friendly and polite, and I’d definitely stay here again if I were in the area. The breakfast was good, the shower was great, with hot water, strong pressure and a nice shower head, and the room had a refrigerator, microwave and big TV. I rarely watch TV, but it was nice to have. My buddy and I came up to go ice fishing at Black Hawk Lake. I chose Days Inn in Carroll, Ia after checking several motels because it had a pool and hot tub. Another motel I called had a pool but said it wasn’t working and they were waiting for parts. I specifically asked Days Inn if its hot tub worked when I made the reservation, and was told, “yes, at this time.” After a day of ice fishing, that sounded pretty good. But at check-in there was a paper sign on the pool door saying the hot tub wasn’t working. I was given an explanation involving the HVAC and mold. When I came back to the motel yesterday, it was running, but the water looked pretty dirty, as you can see in the picture.
