The guy at the front desk was really helpful when I realized I'd booked the wrong dates through Expedia. He changed them for me without any trouble or charges. I was worried after reading all the bad reviews, but the rooms are actually clean and spacious, and the bed is quite comfortable. The AC unit gets extremely noisy when it's running. Still, for the price, the room isn't bad.

We got up to find there was no water in the shower, and no one answered the phone or came to the front desk. Thirty minutes later, still no one. The hallway smelled horrible of cigarette smoke and pets, and the carpet was soaking wet outside one door. Neither our door nor the one next to it had a number. The room smelled like it had been shut up for ages. Half a step above a roach motel.

The mildew smell in the hallway was atrocious, and the floor and bathroom in my room were unacceptable. I had to buy cleaning supplies and use my own sheets before I could relax. The check-in and checkout waits were unreal. I saw house cleaners, but they seemed to be there just for show. Where are the employees? Who's responsible for this business? I've stayed in hotels across NC and VA all year and never seen such a dirty place. The outside has potential, but it's awful. I can't understand how this place runs day to day, especially when there are house cleaners who really care about their work. I can't believe it costs 80 plus, either. Sad that nobody seems to care about the business when so many people work hard and care for it. Disappointed.

I booked through Expedia, but the front desk had no record of my reservation. Luckily I had my confirmation. The hair dryer didn't work, though they gave me a replacement when I asked. The fridge was wet inside and couldn't keep anything cold, not even bottled water. The bed was so uncomfortable, like sleeping on a plywood box with springs. The room number signs were taped to the walls. In one photo, there's a ceiling leak with exposed wiring and a bucket catching the water, an obvious safety hazard. The stairwell and the room trash can were filthy, and the whole place felt neglected. The lobby coffee was cold, and the powdered creamer had clumped into something that looked and tasted awful. The towels were thin, rough, worn out, and barely usable. Stonewood Inn and Suites in Carrollton is in shockingly poor condition, and I regret booking there. This is the last place you want to stay. I'm attaching photos so you can see for yourself. It's a disaster, and I wouldn't give it even one star if I could. I hope this saves someone else from the same awful experience.

The shower had mold, leaking fixtures, a broken lock, and a huge hole in its floor. This was a run-down Econolodge with a new name but no room updates. It was the most disgusting hotel I've stayed in in the USA.
