Carson City Plaza Hotel and Event Center

Being here for Nevada Day was the highlight. We walked to Reds for breakfast, came back down Carson Street to watch the balloons take off, then sat in front of the building for the parade. It was actually fun, though a four-hour parade was a little long. The clerks were friendly, polite, and accommodating, including the woman dressed up for Halloween. Thanks for the hospitality. The breakfast was better than expected. We needed a coffee cup, and the TV in the sitting room wouldn’t work. I forgot my own pillow and got one flat one, and Carol had the same. I checked the sheets for stains and they passed. The accessible bathroom was cool, but the complimentary soap was so tiny we both laughed at it. I wish I’d taken a picture.

For one night, it’s a decent enough place, and the front desk lady was helpful. The hotel is very old and needs renovation. Only the front building was well lit, while the other blocks were dark and a bit shady. Breakfast was really bad, and there was no microwave for heating the oats and milk.

We were comfortable here, and the staff were very friendly. Parking is free, and breakfast is very simple. For what it cost, though, I thought everything was excellent.

The bikers were rude, parking their bikes in the smoking area and hanging around so nobody else could sit there. Customer service did nothing, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Our bathroom sink was clogged, though they responded and fixed it.
