Rodeway Inn at Nevada State Capitol

I keep coming back to Rodeway whenever I’m in Carson. The front desk staff are warm, helpful, and considerate at any hour, and Chris (day) and Abla (night) have both been fantastic. Abla is fairly new and already doing great. The owners are understanding, too. They’re firm but welcoming, and seem willing to work with you if you’re responsible, honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I hate seeing what look to me like fake negative reviews from one disgruntled guest. The practical details are great: just a $10 pet fee, a $50 deposit, and they take cash. My puppy loves staying here. The rooms are a little dated, but I sleep really well in the beds, especially the king beds, and the tubs are deep enough for a relaxing bubble bath. It’s close to the freeway, fast food, gas stations, grocery stores, bars, and liquor stores. I just love this place. If you need somewhere in Carson where the staff treat you like a friend, come to Rodeway.

The staff are kind, compassionate, amazing, and funny, especially if you can catch them when they’re free to chat. I’d call the stay flawless, with one caveat: you need to know how to work with the surroundings, the staff, and what’s available at different times of day. If you can do that, pretty much anything you need or want is a very short walk away, as the crow flies or by the usual route.

We were out of options late at night, but Abby at the front desk and the rest of the crew made sure my girlfriend and I had somewhere to stay. After calling around at about 3-4am, we got a room here, and they even arranged a late checkout to make up for the timing. I can’t thank them enough for going above and beyond.

The rooms were clean, and this was the cheapest place in town. We stayed for the location because we were visiting the capital building. Still, the property looked very run down inside and out. There were broken-down vehicles in the lot, and the pool was closed. The coffee maker tank was green inside. Since all rooms are non-smoking, people go outside to smoke, and they looked like shady people hanging around.
