La Quinta Inn & Suites Raleigh Durham Intl Ap

We were worried after reading other reviews, but our own stay was much better. For the very low price I paid, it felt worthwhile, even though the hotel wasn’t great. The bed and bathroom were clean and usable overall. There was some dirt and sugar packets behind the TV, so cleaning clearly wasn’t thorough. The shower was a little unclean, though not terrible, while the toilet and counter were clean. The room felt run down, and the hotel smelled strongly of weed when we entered. There were also vomit stains on some carpets. The important parts, the bed and bathroom, were still okay for the price. A deeper room clean, including behind surfaces, would help. That dirt might be why some guests have had cockroaches and similar problems.

We’re making this our yearly stop between NJ and FL, and we’ll stay here again on the way back. This is a trip for a mom and teen daughter, and we felt safe and very welcome. The price was super affordable both on the weekday and weekend nights. Our king bed was so comfortable, the room clean, and the bathroom really spacious. A lovely woman with purple hair checked us in and was so helpful. When I asked for an extra blanket at night, she brought it right to our room instead of making me wait in the lobby. Breakfast was included, and we couldn’t get enough of the golden waffle machine. Thanks from your Jersey visitors!

The people working there were compassionate and reasonable, and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was amazing, and the shower pressure was seriously powerful. Try the showerhead’s massage setting on your neck and shoulders. There’s some jet noise from nearby RDU, but I grew up a stone’s throw from Langley AFB, so it’s nothing by comparison. Parking is free, but you need to display the pass they give you at check-in. They seriously enforce towing for cars without the rear-window hanger, since people leave cars there before flights to avoid the airport storage garages and their prices.

The hotel is very clean and stylish, and feels like a nice little getaway from everything. The double queen beds were comfortable, clean, and well organized. A few shower supplies were missing. The brackets for body wash, conditioner, and shampoo were there but empty. There was just one travel-size shampoo and conditioner on the sink, enough for one person instead of two. I’d requested two extra pillows in my reservation before arriving, but none were in the room. When I called the desk, the GSA said no pillows were available and brought us bars of soap instead.
