Home2 Suites by Hilton Suites Marysville

I knew in advance that there were no double-queen rooms and booked anyway, but I was still disappointed that the alternative was a pull-out sofa bed. There are no vending machines, just a very limited selection at the front desk. Breakfast was basic and just okay. I wasn’t impressed by the staff member eating at the same time and talking extremely loudly with a colleague. I could’ve done without hearing about her health and family issues and personal thoughts. I like the Hilton brand, but Home2 Suites is my least favorite in the line.

I had to stay here for an extended time with a pet because of circumstances I couldn’t foresee. Sheri helped me get settled into a good room at check-in and could tell I was stressed. She was very helpful, and everyone at the hotel was incredibly kind, including sales manager Rachel. The front desk women were the absolute best. I’d chat with each of them now and then, and that meant a lot while I was going through a tough time. The people here made the experience much more enjoyable.

Cleaning staff were working hard, but seemed a little short-staffed, so our room wasn’t ready for on-time check-in. The mattresses were comfortable, but the pillows were flat and lumpy, smelled moldy, and were in terrible shape. Pillows make or break a hotel for me, and I didn’t sleep well as a result. The hotel is next to a train track, so if you have little ones, I’d consider skipping it. I’ll stick with Marriott’s from now on.

The nearby train line was the main drawback for me. It seems busy, so light sleepers may have trouble with the noise. I didn’t get to try the pool or gym, though the gym looked well equipped. Breakfast came with the stay and was tasty and convenient. Inside, the Home2 Suites Marysville felt modern and was spotless throughout. My suite had a roomy kitchen area with brand new, clean equipment, and the rest of the furnishings were in great shape. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived.
