Red Roof Inn Raleigh Southwest - Cary

The front desk staff, apart from the manager, and housekeeping were lovely to my husband and me. They treated us with kindness, respect, and humility. The room was only alright, with a barely working toilet, a few roaches, and limited hot water. The halls constantly smelled like rotten food. The manager was incredibly rude and called me slurs. When I responded rudely, he called the police. He only started treating me this way after I dropped my husband at work. He sees me leave with my husband in the morning and come back without him often enough. It felt creepy at best and predatory at worst. Single women, don’t stay here. You aren’t safe.

On the afternoon of 1/20/2026, I had a problem with my reservation dates. Sp showed outstanding customer service, working with the supervisor at the third party I booked through to get the dates corrected. I wouldn’t want anyone else helping me in that situation. Thank you so much, Sp. I’ll come back as often as I can!

The location was great for me, just five minutes from work, and most of the staff were friendly. But the front desk manager caused a frightening situation with my wife while I was away. She was trying to calm things down, and he told her, “I’m just a rude person, that’s just who I am.” When she finally answered him with a tone, he called the police. I got the call at work, and we had 20 minutes to leave. Our room wasn’t in the best condition, but it didn’t justify that. We’d planned to pick up the trash the next day since we’re busy and don’t always have time to clean right away. He came upstairs to argue with and intimidate her. I had to Uber back, and when I arrived, he’d lost that courage, hid in the office, and said nothing. He’s known for causing problems and having people trespassed for ridiculous reasons. It felt like predatory behavior. I’m glad we can’t return, though the whole ordeal cost me $120 in work, and I’m homeless, so every dollar matters. Women, especially those staying alone, should choose somewhere else. The other staff were nice, and the guy with long black hair we met the first night was down to earth. They deserve respectful management. The ice machine on the second floor was broken too.

My girlfriend and I come to the Red Roof Inn in Cary often, and SP at the front desk is a big reason we keep returning. He’s professional, consistent, and always treats us with respect. He remembers us and makes each visit better. We really appreciate him.
