Americas Best Value Inn Gettysburg

The room was basic but clean, and it was a cheap place for the night. I won't stay again if I need to get any sleep, though. The bed was short and so springy that even at 5'4", my feet hung over the end.

Parking right in front of the room made bringing our stuff in easy, and the price was very good. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and how nice it smelled. I'd recommend this inn to my mother.

I never actually stayed here. After driving all day, I left a rough motel in a drug area because I didn't feel safe, then stopped at Sheetz in PA for gas and coffee. I checked the booking and hotel apps for somewhere nearby to sleep. This place was cheap and close to Sheetz, so I drove over instead of booking online. Getting into the lot was difficult. Inside, I asked about a room and the man said yes, clicked around on his computer, then suddenly said there was no vacancy. The apps still showed rooms available. The front desk felt shady. My usual battlefield hotel wanted $187 that night, so I tried this one instead. I love the burg and it's one of my favorite places in the world, but I won't consider staying here in the future.

We were exhausted from a four-day power outage at home and had nowhere else to go, so we stayed one night and then needed to add another. When I went to the office to extend, I explained the outage. The man quoted a rate and charged my card. A few hours later I returned for a printed receipt, and the woman at the desk said we'd been given the wrong rate. She changed it and charged my card again at double the quoted price, then handed me the receipt without explaining. I was too worn out to argue and just left. The outage was big local news, so the owners knew about it. They could have shown us some kindness and honored their employee's quote. I used to work at a Gettysburg motel desk, and if I'd made that mistake, the motel would have covered it. I would never have passed the cost on to a guest. In my opinion, this was horrible customer service.
