Mendocino Cove

The bedding is European style, with a duvet and no sheets. I’m usually fine with that, but as a woman of a certain age I missed having a sheet to cool off under. That was my only small gripe. The new hotel is adorable and really well done, in a great location between Mendocino and Fort Bragg, right by the highway but you can’t see or hear it. There’s access to a private beach and lots of pickleball courts. Can’t wait to come back and see it when the full hotel is finished.

I’ve been coming back for a long time and am still happy with it. The location is number one, with a private beach, a pretty trail, and friendly staff. One issue: there’s no cell signal, and for some reason I couldn’t make calls over Wi-Fi either (Pixel 9, Mint/T-Mobile). A smaller annoyance is that the new owners moved the parking away from the rooms, across the driveway.

A lovely place for a romantic break and a chance to unwind after a busy day. We had an easy check-in, a comfortable bed, and complimentary coffee and tea that tasted good. The room was decorated beautifully, in a tasteful, understated style. At checkout we were surprised to find so many pickleball courts, with lots of keen players out there. My friends who play can’t wait to try it. I highly recommend it.

The walkable beach is spectacular, and the grounds are beautiful, with a fire pit and pickleball courts on site. This fairly new resort is between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The rooms are roomy and feel fresh. It’s extremely dog friendly, with a fenced dog park, plus a dog bed and bowls in the room. The staff were super friendly and check-in was a breeze.
