Courtyard by Marriott Casper

The lobby was welcoming, and the room looked clean, organized, and comfortable at first. The holiday staff were warm and pleasant, too. But after 50+ nights with the brand this year, I expected better from Marriott. When we arrived, there was urine down the front of the toilet and a used washcloth on top of the shower curtain. The shower pressure was so weak it was uncomfortable, unlike any Marriott shower we'd had this year. Before checkout we went down to the bistro. I asked whether the avocado toast used fresh avocado and what bread it came on, but got only a vague 'yeah.' What arrived was plain wheat toast with an unappealing avocado spread, in a to-go container even though we were dining in. I stopped after a couple of bites, and couldn't justify the $12. Free coffee helped a little. My wife remembered a buffet with waffles and fruit from an earlier stay, so we expected something similar, but this wasn't close. Maybe staffing or budget has changed. The hotel was quiet and far from full, so I'm not sure if they're stretched thin or need tighter operations. More attention to housekeeping and bistro communication would help. We'll stay at the other Marriott in town next time.

The bistro was handy, and the food was good. In the morning there's a breakfast menu and Starbucks coffee, and our room was clean. I loved the friendly, helpful staff. The water pressure could've been stronger, and I wasn't happy that the shower containers are refilled instead of providing individual shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. That was my only disappointment.

Katherine at check-in made us feel so welcome, and friendly doesn't even cover it. We arrived later in the evening, and she suggested a couple of local places to eat. Her recommendations were spot on. Our room was clean, the hotel was easy to reach and had enough parking, and we felt very safe. Thank you!

After a long day of travel, walking into a really clean room that's clearly well maintained is a relief. The hotel is beautiful and so clean, and the front desk staff were professional and helpful, including the night shift, which hasn't always been my experience elsewhere. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, though both are quite small and could use some cleaning. I'd definitely stay again.
