Days Inn Castaic Six Flags Magic Mountain

We didn't check in until 2 am and were exhausted. The first room had cockroaches all over the floor, including in the shower, so we switched to one far away. That room looked survivable at first, but the sheets were wrinkled like someone had slept in them, and we spotted a pube hair. We blew it off the sheets, yuck! Then we saw one roach on the AC unit and smashed it. We slept bundled in a hoody with all our clothes on and the AC blasting. In the morning there were little winged bugs in the sink and coming out of the overflow drain. The place looked like it had been shut down for health violations and reopened without fixing anything. In my 61 years, this is in the top three worst hotels I've stayed in. Don't stay here.

The pool gets some credit. My kid was really happy with it, and it seemed decent for swimming and playing. The motel did what we needed, and the room was clean enough that I didn't feel completely grossed out. Still, it was a pretty grungy place, and paying over $100 for it stung. Not that long ago a room like this would've been closer to $30. The parking lot was extremely gross, and the building outside badly needs a power wash. I hope I don't have to pay $100+ for such a low-brow place again, though I'm not in a position to feel hopeful about that. It wasn't good.

We pulled over for the night because the location worked, but the motel was filthy and grungy. The hot tub didn't really work, the towels were nasty, and there was no soap in the lobby bathroom. The room's cleanliness was questionable too. Pretty gross. I'm surprised a franchise would let a place stay this dirty.

If you're working in town, the location is good. The rooms are gross and definitely seem to have had dogs in them. The dog pee smell is strong.
