Hotel Castle Rock CO Downtown

We were in Colorado for work and stayed here almost two months. I got to know the staff well, and if I end up in castle rock again, this is where I'll stay. They were some of the best people I've met, and it feels like I made friends for life. From our first night checking in, Ms. Pam was wonderful. She knew all about town and local events, and even made me a little packet with directions to walking trails and the best little diners, plus what the town favorite was to eat there. I packed it when I left because I'll never forget such a sweet person. Theresa at the front desk is a total sweetheart who made it her goal to keep guests happy. I loved seeing her every morning when I came downstairs for fresh coffee. A genuine good morning from someone that awesome is a real blessing. Kevin, another front desk worker, made sure folks did right around there and kept the riffraff away. And Mario started about two weeks before we left, so I only knew him briefly, but awesome is an understatement. I feel like I gained really great friends and a new sister for life. Huge thanks to all of you for making my stay in castle rock one to remember. P.S. I miss you all and hope I get to come back soon.

I stayed with my wife and our one-year-old, and everything was fine. You can tell they care about the place, and that's why it gets five stars from me. That's my opinion: if you want luxury, spend another $100-$140 a night at a Holiday Inn. Don't buy a Honda and complain that it isn't a Lamborghini.

We were woken at 7 a.m. by five policemen carrying rifles who were looking for someone in the building. That's a rough way to start the morning. The room and hallway smelled awful, like a strange mix of feet and smoke, and it didn't feel clean. The walls and carpet were yellowed, apparently from old smoke stains. The sofa looked so grimy I didn't want to sit on it. The sheets seemed like the cleanest spot, though even they had a couple of strange blurry marks. The bathroom seemed untouched since the 70s. Everything looked old, and the water pressure was so poor that washing my hands properly took forever. Breakfast was a joke, with almost nothing available and the few items not looking appealing. The price was reasonable, but the stay wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have no other options.

We lost $389.00 after trying to leave early. Since I’d paid in full, I expected a refund, but the staff said we couldn’t check out or get our money back because I booked through hotels.com. Before that, we’d asked to switch rooms or have ours cleaned, and they refused. The room was dirty: white stuff was on the sink, toilet, and wall around the toilet, the tub and floor were dirty, and there was a stain on the sheets. The staff was very unhelpful.
