Comfort Inn Castro Valley

I come here often and usually think the hotel is great, but the woman who is always at the front desk has made this stay awful. She stays in her chair and seems to find every reason not to help. At first I thought maybe I was taking it personally, until another guest told me late last night she had treated him the same way. Another man said she wouldn't even let them use the lobby bathroom. She was so annoyed about letting me in, and it felt like she just didn't want to get up and do anything. Nothing seems to be available, and the whole place feels unpleasant because of her. If someone doesn't want to do the job, they should let somebody else do it. It's hard to believe this was such a horrible stay. Maybe it's time for her to retire.

We didn't stay at this Comfort Inn, but they let us park there so we could get close to the Castro Valley light Parade. It was against their rules, and they didn't have to make an exception, but they understood that some people in our group were disabled and couldn't walk far. Their hospitality was 10/10. I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in town.

I visit regularly, and it's always a pleasure to see Juli at the front desk. She's professional, welcoming, and attentive every time I've dealt with her. Even a quick check-in feels warm, and she communicates clearly and is happy to help, including with local recommendations. Juli has a way of making guests feel at home and valued. Her positive attitude and genuine care really add to the stay. She's a real asset to the team, and knowing she'll be there is one reason I look forward to coming back.

There are plenty of shops nearby, and there's a putt-putt place across the street. I also felt safe being outside on my own. The hotel itself was nice, with fresh cookies at 5pm and popcorn.
