Sleep Inn & Suites Cave City

The room was clean and nice enough, and I slept fine. The shower had a strange L shape that made bathing difficult. At breakfast, the indoor pool looked small, and with just a few people and kids it already seemed packed. There is no hot tub, despite what the website says. The breakfast was all sugar and carbs, which was a hard pass. On October 18th 2025, my partner and I were traveling out of state on business and had questions about pricing. I called the hotel directly and booked without trouble. It was easy to find just off the highway, and parking was fine. Check-in was smooth, and the clerk was friendly enough. We were told the only elevator was broken, and I was on the third floor. They really should have a bellhop while it’s out of order. Check-out was smooth, and the clerk was friendly enough then, too.

I’m very disappointed that I still haven’t received a response as of 12/21, apart from the company’s comment on this review. I won’t be satisfied until I get a full refund. This reservation was made on the sleep inn website, not through a third party, so that defense doesn’t apply. The $100 I spent by mistake may not mean as much to the sleep inn chain as it does to me. It feels like they have no mercy or grace for an honest mistake. On 12/12/25 at approximately 1 am, my mother, daughter, and I stopped at the sleep inn in cave city on our way to Memphis. I booked online from the parking lot because online rates are usually cheaper. Since it was after midnight, the kind and helpful desk clerk noticed I’d booked Friday instead of Thursday. I explained the mistake. He tried, but couldn’t refund me, and online customer service couldn’t either. I paid for Thursday and we stayed the night. On Saturday, I called and spoke with the general manager, Kathy Carlon. Although I’d made the booking only minutes before trying to check in and it was clearly a mistake, she said that without 24 hours’ cancellation notice I “most likely” wouldn’t get a refund. She said she’d email the regional manager, but wouldn’t give me their name, email, or phone number so I could follow up myself.

For about $90, our room was like other hotels at the same price, nothing special but nothing bad, and at least there were no bugs. The shower pressure was weak, and the shower floor felt slimy. I didn’t see pink or black mold, but it still felt slimy. Breakfast had very little variety: waffles, cereal, yogurt, juice, and coffee, with no protein or meat. They didn’t have the usual hotel options like eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, bread, muffins, doughnuts, or fruit. We paid about $90 for one night.

We’d planned three nights at Sleep Inn & Suites Cave City, but after our Mammoth National Park plans were canceled, we stayed two. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. For a short stay, everything else was fine. We accidentally booked an accessible room on the second floor, and the elevator was out of order. That was inconvenient and could have been a serious problem for someone who needed wheelchair access. The hotel should make sure accessible rooms are on the first floor so elevator problems don’t affect guests with disabilities.
