The event center worked well for the Comic Con that weekend, with a layout that made good use of the space. I was comfortable in the room, especially the bedding, and the service was exceptional. I’d be happy to come back next year. I booked this as a solo trial run, close enough to family for backup, though I never needed it, and the experience showed me I could manage on my own. That mattered for my longer term plans, too. Breakfast had good choices, but it costs extra. I requested ahead of time to pay at check-in, so keep that charge in mind if you book. The person checking me in forgot to look up my advance payment cards, and I nearly paid twice, but it was easy to sort out once I realized what had happened. The food is in the Applebee’s or Red Robin range. On the first night I had a Caesar salad. Its croutons were a little different from what I expected, but it was still good. The next night I got the usual burger and fries. The burger defaulted to well done, which I could tell from the wait as well as the beef itself, but in the end it was worth it. DQ next door was a decent counterbalance. I also compared the lobby grab-and-go prices with nearby Casey's, and was surprised that both were competitive even on a bottle of Coca-Cola. The fountain drink at the bar was competitively priced too.

The suite was large, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was good and cost $12, though with a $235 room for one night, I think it should have been included. Check-in took a while, and we got very little information about the hotel. We were meant to have a discount for our event, but neither of the two front desk clerks could tell us about it or tried to contact the manager. Do better.

Think twice before booking here. We arrived late and ordered food for the kids through DoorDash. Guests we spoke with who had eaten the hotel food said it was awful. We weren't told about the rules when we checked in, or we would have gladly stayed somewhere else. The bartender and GM threatened to kick me out for eating our food in the spacious lobby. When I asked to talk to the GM, he was too afraid to address it with me like an adult. The hotel is otherwise clean and nice, but rules guests don't hear about until after booking ruined our stay. We had to move a dinner, including pizza we planned to order for all the families' kids, because of this. I travel a lot for work and have never been told I couldn't eat or drink outside food in a hotel I was paying to stay in. Also, if you buy the included breakfast, you need to get a ticket for it, so pick one up ahead of time if you're in a hurry in the morning. It felt more like a prison than a hotel. In response to the GM's review, I just confirmed our group leader was not told about this policy, as I said before. I wasn't told at check-in either. Two different people on Nick's staff said this was a constant problem for them and they hated enforcing it. Maybe management should listen to guests. I even politely offered to move to an area of the lobby that clearly wasn't a restaurant or bar, but was told no. This is Nick's misguided policy, apparently meant to raise revenue at the cost of customer service.

I've stayed here several times as a Diamond Elite member. It's clean, new, and beautiful for events, but expect a very busy property. The lobby and hotel can stay noisy well past 11, and you probably won't get much sleep on the first floor. A big event center means crowds and a congested lobby in the evenings. The location is more industrial than in town. Roads are rough, and trucks can slow you down. Google Maps still puts the hotel across the street, despite several reports. Rooms are pretty standard, with heavy doors and a mini fridge that doesn't get very cold. Parking can be difficult too. Menu charges seem questionable. I ordered the same drink twice and was charged more the next day. The burgers are gross, like cheap frozen hockey pucks, and I don't recommend them. On another stay, I was late for work because housekeeping couldn't tell which bottle was lotion and which was soap. Also, my name isn't Danielle, as you said in your previous reply.

The wedding was outdoors, with the reception conveniently just inside the venue. Dinner was either salmon or chicken. I chose the chicken, but it was dry and the vegetables weren't cooked enough.
