Candlewood Suites Austin N - Cedar Park by IHG

Since the floods, I’ve been staying in hotels, and this is the first place that’s actually felt like home. The updated full kitchen makes it feel like a little studio apartment, and the bed is comfortable. There’s complimentary laundry, too. I’m here for an extended stay and work as a waitress, so I’m paid by the shift. The staff have been welcoming and accommodating from the start, and patient with my daily payments. I absolutely love this place and would recommend it.

The staff were friendly, but that was the only positive. We booked early Saturday for nursing staff who’d be arriving late after their shifts, since they couldn’t safely drive home. Even knowing that, the rooms weren’t ready. The first room had a completely disheveled bed with large damp spots. The carpet was covered in big, unidentified stains, and the bathroom was filthy, with dirty laundry left there.

The whole building smelled bad the entire time we were there. On top of that, I’m pretty sure the front desk women were out there every night with their friends, acting like they were tweaking on something. Our room hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest: the beds were made, but there was hair all over the sheets and wet, dirty towels still in the bathroom. Ten out of ten, I don’t recommend it.

The desk employee apologized, but both rooms were among the worst we’ve seen as platinum elite members who stay in hotels around the country. The first room was nasty, so we were moved. The second was better, but hardened food was stuck on both sides of the couch cushions, and the tub wouldn’t drain.
