Days Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids

We paid over $300 for two rooms for one night, and both toilets kept flushing all night. Staff said that was normal. The AC was ridiculously loud, and the rooms felt and looked dirty, with hair all over the shower, curtain, and toilet. We think the beds were at least hair-free, but everyone slept on top of the bedding. Kids ran and yelled up and down the halls from 6 a.m., so we couldn't sleep, and housekeeping was waiting outside our doors by 10 even though checkout was at 11. A terrible stay.

The staff were nice, and the bed was clean, but I expected more for the price. There was rust in the tub and the faucet was broken. The highway location wasn't necessarily the issue, but this place was very noisy. Trucks and car alarms kept waking me through the night.

People were yelling, playing ball, and running into doors and walls in the hall, so getting a good night's sleep was out of the question. The room was dirty, and the property needs a lot of repairs and updates. I couldn't find the toilet paper. Our “suite” seemed designed for someone my size, 5'2", rather than an average person, and there wasn't even a closet. I have pictures.

I asked to move my trip by just one week, but the hotel refused outright. I explained the situation to both the property and the booking site, and neither offered any flexibility or help. The lack of understanding was surprising and disappointing.
