Lazy Z Resort

We had seven people in the cabin and there was enough room for all of us to sleep comfortably. The pool and jacuzzi were the best parts, with a little waterfall flowing into the pool and the jacuzzi’s temperature and jets just right. The cabin itself was a bit dingy, though. Some windows were broken and the carpets had lots of stains. Staff were available if we needed anything, but they generally left us alone unless we asked, which was one of the few other pluses.

The clubhouse has a comfortable, old-time feel, with antiques and pictures that make it feel like home. By the pool there’s plenty of seating and a cantina for personal use, along with cornhole, ping pong, and outdoor decorations. The poolside atmosphere and scenery are incredible. There’s a guest book to sign, too. Staff were great, and the locals who come here often make it easy to see why people return. It’s dog friendly and works well for kids, adults on their own, or a romantic trip with my Boyz. I’d recommend it for a vacation, hikes, a business retreat, or a wedding. Twain Harte is about five minutes away, with a nine-hole golf course, putt-putt, restaurants, shops, and a park. Sonora is roughly 15 minutes away. We ate at Emberz, Diamond Back, Pinocchios, and The Villa, shopped in Sonora, and visited Black Oaks Casino. What a great area to explore!

We love the water feature here. The cabins are great, and the staff are attentive and quick to respond.

It’s a peaceful, quiet retreat, and the room was spotlessly clean. The kitchen had a fridge and all the cooking gear we needed. Finding this tucked-away resort takes some effort, but the location is a real hidden gem and well worth it.
