Courtyard by Marriott Long Island Islip/Courthouse Complex

The one thing that let us down was a request my wife made early in the stay. She asked the front desk for an ironing board, but it never arrived. That was disappointing after an otherwise very good visit. We found the rooms comfortable, the location convenient for our trip, and the hotel clean, modern, and well kept. Staff were generally friendly and professional throughout. We enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back. I hope the hotel follows through on guest requests more reliably.

Getting around from the Courtyard Marriott in Central Islip was convenient for my trip, and both the Wi-Fi and gym worked out really well for me. My room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a modern, well-maintained feel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I had a great stay and would recommend it to people visiting the area.

Updated June 5, 2026: 3 stars Yancey at the front desk was very helpful when I called during the day about my missing earrings. She found them in the lost and found and explained how to get them shipped to me. Thanks to the housekeeping staff for finding them, and to Yancey for helping me get them back. Original review: 1 star The location is really nice, on a quiet side street near lots of amenities. We’re Marriott Platinum Elite members and stay at Marriotts around the world, but this was by far the worst one we’ve stayed at. We had a king room on the fourth and top floor for five nights. It looked nice at first, but we ran into a lot of problems, and only a few were fixed. The room was noisy. Conversations in neighboring rooms sounded amplified, and there didn’t seem to be any sound dampening. The carpet, couch, and shower had significant stains, which looked gross and made me question how clean the room was. The water pressure was very low at both the sink and shower. When I tried adjusting the sink flow, the nozzle came off in my hand. The shower head offered “wide spray,” which didn’t work for washing long or thick hair, or “narrow spray,” a weak, straggly stream that wasn’t very functional. The window’s curtain rod was broken, so the sheer curtain drooped at the end when closed. The blackout curtain worked, but the sheer one could only be used at least halfway open during the day. The in-shower body wash pump was stuck down and wouldn’t work. I couldn’t unscrew it, but after I told the front desk, it was repaired or replaced that day. I appreciated that. We also ran out of Kleenex the first night. Around 10 p.m. I called down for more and was told nobody could leave the front desk to bring it. The clerk said I could get some in the morning, then hung up. I asked again in the morning while reporting the body wash pump. A new box was brought to the room, but it wasn’t put in the holder by the time we returned that evening. That was acceptable, but below the service I expect from a Marriott. After checking out, I realized I’d left earrings on the bedside table. I know it was my fault, and I can’t hold the hotel responsible for that. When I called that evening, the young man at the desk was very rude. He said housekeeping wasn’t available and I should call back the next day to see if anyone had turned them in, then hung up. He didn’t offer to check lost and found, take my name and number for housekeeping to call, or say whether the room was occupied or someone could look. I knew exactly where I’d put the earrings and could have directed someone to them. I doubted I’d get them back, but my complaint was that nobody tried to help, even though I knew where they were. The daytime front desk staff were pleasant and helpful enough, but the nighttime staff were rude, abrupt, and unhelpful, and hung up on me twice. I wouldn’t recommend this Marriott.

The staff are friendly and seem to care about real customer service. I also liked the bright, modern bathrooms, and the hotel looks beautiful inside and out. Breakfast costs extra, but I enjoyed the French toast with blueberries. I’m looking forward to coming back when I’m in the area.
