The walk to the river and town was easy, and the place was quiet with parking right out front. We stayed in the Fisherman and found it a good step up from camping for the price. It was dog friendly, which was a great plus. Towels were provided, and the stocked kitchen had a kitchenette, though no paper towels. There were outdoor chairs too. I was a little nervous after reading reviews, but the stay was really good. The cabin was freezing because the heat wouldn't work, so they gave us a space heater. The listing said two beds, but there aren't two bedrooms: one bed is in the living area and the other is in a separate room. That's fine unless the second guests really need privacy. Water pressure was great.

The listing gives a completely misleading picture of the place, and what you get is nowhere near what's advertised. The cabin was filthy, with cobwebs in every corner and surfaces that clearly hadn't been touched before guests arrived. It feels as if they stopped caring: the TV didn't work, there were no paper towels, and the cabin is falling apart. The door won't lock from inside, the screen has a hole that could put pets at risk, and a huge gap lets bugs and hot air in. With no screens on the windows or doors, you either roast inside or get eaten by insects. Parking is terrible, and management was outright rude and disrespectful. Don't stay here. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under any circumstances.

We had a lovely weekend in Lake City, though the beds weren't comfortable enough for us to sleep well. The yard was cramped, with cabins much closer together than we expected, and there was a large hole right in front of the front deck, apparently from some repair work. We could get around it safely, but families with young children should be aware. Our Cabin #23, The Cliff House, sits on a cliff, so I wouldn't suggest it for families with little kids. The cabin itself was cozy, with clean beds and mostly everything we needed, including towels. Staff responded quickly when we asked about the TV or Wifi. The rustic kitchen had most basic cooking supplies, a regular fridge/freezer, small oven and stove, microwave, and sink. There's no dishwasher. The beds were just okay. There were three decks, at the front, side, and back. Three stars for the sleep, the hole in the yard, and the close quarters.

My group spent 30k for the week and we were treated like crap. We had nowhere to park despite telling them how many people were coming and that we had trailers, and we didn't get enough towels or washcloths. We were also forced to move the cook tent and threatened with a fine for moving a rock. Housekeeping, customer service, and appreciation were all terrible. They acted as if they didn't need us, when they should understand that they need customers. The property is badly managed, and staff couldn't talk to people properly. Local officials even said they wouldn't stay here. Never coming back. Ever.

The location is great, but after this visit we won't be back, and I can't recommend staying here. We've come with a big group to show people around three times now, and on this weeklong trip they accused one of our friends of hitting a rock and a post while crossing the trailer parking bridge. I directed him where to park, checked with staff, and there was no issue at the time. The accusation came as we were leaving, after he crossed midafternoon at check-in. They said they had camera footage but couldn't show it, and the whole thing turned into a bad scene. Other people said not to let it put us off visiting Lake City. I watched him cross and helped unload, and he didn't hit anything. Trailers and buggies crossed the bridge late at night and early in the morning, so they can't know who caused the small scrape on the post. The rock had no paint from a knee trailer either. It felt like they were just chasing money.
