Even on a quiet night, they put out a full spread for appetizer hour, and breakfast was a fresh, tasty continental selection. The kids also had nightly s’mores by the fire pit. The place felt laid-back and comfortable, with well-kept grounds, a lovely lodge, good service, and a classic Americana feel that suits its history.

Such a cozy, distinctive inn, full of history. We spent ages wandering around the main room and really liked the diorama. There was a warm fire, too. Breakfast was homemade, with bacon, eggs, potatoes and plenty more, and we woke up to the smell of it cooking. The shower was hot with good pressure, and there were endless towels, soft robes, board games, and a beautiful view. We’ll be back.

The river area and property are beautiful. There’s a trail along the water and a nice outdoor lounging spot, weather permitting. Our room was clean and spacious, with high ceilings, a balcony overlooking the river, and a particularly roomy bathroom. Rooms may vary. We stayed Monday in November, and the main lodge was warm and inviting, with a stone fireplace stocked with what I presume was locally split wood, fun decor, and artwork. There was a huge couch and a wide choice of tea and hot chocolate. In the early evening they served fruit, vegetables, rice, and a tasty chicken stir-fry. Later we had soft chocolate chip cookies and packaged s’mores kits, with another fire outside for roasting marshmallows despite the cool, damp weather. Breakfast the next morning was impressive too, with eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, biscuits and gravy, bagels, fruit, coffee, granola, yogurt, and juice and water. The staff were just as lovely as the amenities and offered help with whatever we needed. I’d absolutely love to return.

The rainy Oregon forest around this place was incredible, and it’s the most charming, beautiful spot I’ve stayed. Cecil at the front desk was considerate and so accommodating. Everything in the cabin was clean, comfortable, and homey. I couldn’t think of a single issue and will definitely come back as soon as I can.
