The manager shared helpful local knowledge about the lake and gave us advice on house hunting. Folks here were friendly, and check-in and checkout were both easy. We’ll definitely return, thank you!

For almost $150 for one night, I expected a cleaner place and better upkeep. There was black mold on the shower curtain, a blood spot on the sheet, and the lumpy bed was bad for our backs. The breakfast wasn’t worth it: microwave biscuits with something on them, some cereal and a little bread, but no fruit. The hotel has smoking rooms, and we could smell smoke throughout our stay. I woke up several times in the night smelling it. It was the only place in town, but it really needs attention.

The bathroom was clean, and the shower had good water pressure and temperature. But the bed left my back hurting by morning. The mattress was extremely hard with no give, and likely needed replacing a long time ago. It had a plastic protector, and we saw no bugs, dirt, or mold. We brought our own pillows, so can’t speak to the room’s, though they felt firm. The sheets seemed thin and cheap, like scratchy 200 thread count cotton. The room, 212, was dated, the carpet looked dirty and needed a good cleaning, and the door was missing its security lock. My husband said he barely slept because he was worried about bugs. I worried someone might come into the room, and my back hurt all night, so we won’t return. We were in town visiting family for one night. At check-in, the front desk guy wore a tank top and boxers and said maybe five words to us.

We spotted several bed bugs on the bed on our last morning. My Husband had noticed bites on my back while we were getting ready, and when we checked each other, we found bites on ankles, feet, hands, arms, backs, and private areas. I reacted to the bites on the way home and had to take benadryl. Once home, I threw away my luggage to avoid bringing anything into the house. We reported the bugs at the front office right away. The lady offered to move us, but we were leaving that day. She said she couldn’t do more, and when we asked for a supervisor or owner, she said he wasn’t there and gave us a card with his name. I booked four nights knowing it was an older hotel and that things might not be perfect. On arrival the room smelled old and stale, though airing it out helped a little. The carpet felt awful and greasy, and the bed was hard. The bathroom was clean. I’d lowered my expectations, but I can’t tolerate bugs. I called the next day and spoke to Bobby. He wouldn’t refund anything, but offered one free night on a future visit. I said I’d never return and wanted a full refund to cover my luggage, but he said he could only give rewards points for another days in hotel. At one point, he said it was a motel and bed bugs happen. I’ve opened a case and requested a refund through the booking company, but haven’t heard back. I also filed a complaint with Days Inn corporate, but they directed me back to the hotel since it’s a franchise. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed immediately. If you stay here, check the room carefully before unpacking.

The bathroom still had a shampoo container in it, and the bottom of the tub was filthy. It was clear the maid hadn’t cleaned it, and I felt grossed out the whole stay. We were first given a room that was still under renovation, then moved to another one. The rooms were dirty, construction was noisy, appliances didn’t work, and management didn’t seem to coordinate properly.
