Fairville Inn

I came at the end of a stressful week for a relative's spring wedding at Winterthur, staying with my husband and parents. I didn't expect the Fairville to feel like such a retreat, but I was able to relax and reset, and left feeling re-energized for the wedding. I slept wonderfully in the comfy beds and premium linens. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous, the rooms bright, airy, and serene, and breakfast was delicious. Service was excellent, and the staff's local restaurant suggestions were great. They didn't disappoint. It would make a lovely romantic getaway too. Thanks, Fairville team!

A quiet, romantic place for a couple to unwind, with a lovely, elegant feel. The farmhouse-style rooms were clean, and the grounds are beautiful to wander around. Longwood Gardens, Wyeth Art Museum, Winterthur, and other places to explore are just minutes away. There aren't refrigerators in the rooms. On holidays, staff may leave early, though there's a number to call if anything comes up. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We stayed twice, and the difference between the rooms changed how we felt about returning. On our first visit, we spent a night in "Suite Two" and loved it: spacious layout, peaceful setting, lovely decor, excellent breakfast, and a wonderful night's sleep. Friends in other rooms had positive things to say too. I also remember a great tea selection at the in-room coffee bar. Three years later, we booked "Springhouse Three" for two nights. It was much smaller and didn't feel like the luxury price we paid. The bed sat close to the door, so hallway light came through and we could hear people on the stairs or talking. The mattress was extremely soft, had no support, and sagged toward the middle. We both slept badly and woke with sore backs. We flipped it for the second night for a little more support, though that wasn't ideal. We're both slim, so weight shouldn't have been a factor. Breakfast was still delicious and the owners were very kind, but we didn't leave wanting a third visit. The fireplaces, common-area snack bar, room flowers, personal notes, decor, and breakfast were all lovely. Improvements I'd suggest: a full-length mirror, mini fridge, better breakfast tea selection, stronger shower pressure, and especially a better bed.

We rented the Inn for our wedding weekend and had a great time using the courtyards to gather and get ready. We also held our rehearsal dinner in a courtyard, and it turned into an unforgettable evening. All the arrangements made the weekend feel like a success, and we'd love to return someday. The staff were welcoming, the rooms cozy and extremely clean, and we found handwritten notes waiting for us. Fresh breakfast was delivered each morning, and they accommodated our special requests. I loved staying at the Fairville Inn. If you're planning an event or need a place in the area, look no further.
