Inn at Mendenhall

We were in town for a Longwood Gardens concert and this is the closest hotel we've tried in the area. It's a short drive to the Gardens, reasonably priced, and doesn't face a busy highway. The grounds are beautiful, and our very nice room overlooked a landscaped pond. Check-in was quick and friendly. Breakfast was free, with hot and cold options, a waffle maker, great coffee, and a friendly attendant in a pleasant seating area. We'll stay again.

We held our wedding at Mendenhall Inn, and the Grand Ballroom made a beautiful setting, with its grand staircase, chandelier, and ceremony space full of lush greenery. Being able to have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony rehearsal, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place was so convenient. Many guests stayed onsite through the room block, which the team helped coordinate, and the included breakfast was a nice extra. The planning felt organized and welcoming from start to finish. Dottie deserves a huge shoutout for her communication, support, and attention to detail. She was responsive and helpful throughout, and made us feel cared for. Roberto, the maître d’, helped the wedding day run smoothly too. The team made a big difference. The food was wonderful from the tasting through the wedding day, and we appreciated being able to bring my mom to the tasting. Everything felt thoughtful and well organized. We'd absolutely recommend Mendenhall Inn to couples looking for a beautiful, convenient venue with a great staff.

We'd definitely return to Mendenhall Inn next time we're nearby. The room rate was very reasonable, parking was free, and our spacious room was comfortable and clean. Staff were courteous and professional, and breakfast was good. The Longwood garden package tickets were convenient too. It's within a 10 minute drive of Longwood Gardens and Winterthur Gardens, and the on-site restaurant was superb. My only complaint was the pillows, which were quite flat and needed replacing.

Once we got inside, our below-ground room was a pleasant surprise, and the full breakfast was very good. We'd picked the Inn at Mendenhall on a friend's recommendation for our first trip to Longwood Gardens, and we're glad we did. The stairs down to the room looked spooky and worn at first. The front desk staff were very nice, and the rooms were clean and well appointed. We had dinner in the adjoining dining room. They were extremely busy, so service was slow before anyone got to us, but then both the food and service were excellent. Charming place, and I'd recommend trying it.
