After hiking part of the CDT trail between Ghost Ranch and Chama, we stopped in for a meal. Bailey was a great server and told us a lot about the hotel and the area. We even got to look around and see a couple of rooms, which were beautifully decorated. The food was excellent, well prepared and full of flavor. I had the Train Robber, and my spouse ordered the Fig panini. If you're looking for a place to stay and eat in Chama, put the Iron Rail Inn near the top of your list.

The renovation of this historic building is great, but the stay had too many problems. There was no breakfast, even though they could have offered it, and no mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. Room service was a total fail in several ways. Some issues, including blood on items, weren't fixed even though we had to stay two nights. The laundry room and other utility areas were also open to view, which would have been much better if they weren't. There are plenty of other places to stay. Until the owners show more concern for their patrons, I'd stay elsewhere.

We were in town for business and stayed overnight, and the location made it easy to walk everywhere. The upstairs patio was a lovely place to unwind with a drink, and the coffee and tea bar came in handy for an early start on a cold morning. Nichole and Desmond were so friendly, and our room was adorable. We had a fabulous dinner and fun Christmas cocktails at the bar. I can’t wait to come back and see y’all soon. Thanks for the hospitality!

I love meeting friends at the Iron Rail for a meal or a cocktail. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional, and the food is great. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The rooms are a bit smaller than those in newer hotels, but the beds were really comfortable. This 100 year old hotel has been completely redone, with beautiful finish choices that keep its old charm. The restaurant food was delicious, and the customer service was terrific. It fits perfectly with the Cumbres and Toltec train experience. We loved it!
