Hampton Inn Champaign Southwest

The indoor pool was a hit with my son, and we found the staff friendly and the rooms clean. Housekeeping did a great job. We chose this hotel because my son was having surgery at the hospital across the street, so the location worked perfectly for us. There are grocery stores and restaurants within four miles, plus a gas station just down the block. I'd recommend it for a quiet getaway, or even a momcation if you need sleep or a little time to read.

The breakfast was great, and the man working it was really nice. I also loved the warm pool, the pillows, and how clean the bed felt. The carpet wasn't old or gross, the shower pressure was strong, and the market area had better options than I expected. This is a solid Hampton, and we'll be back. One little suggestion: the TV could be newer.

The location right by the interstate is convenient, and breakfast and the pool were both great. El Toro is a great Mexican restaurant right nearby, along with a few other places to eat. If you're hoping to be close to all the action in Champaign, though, this hotel isn't near much of it.

Shiloh was a real gem at the front desk. She was friendly, professional, and happy to help with anything I needed. The rooms are spacious, nicely equipped, and cleaned every day, which you don't see everywhere these days. I also liked being able to cook on the outdoor grill. The problem was a housekeeper coming into my room while I was napping, even though the do not disturb sign was up. I wasn't deeply bothered, but I can see how someone else would feel seriously violated. That felt rude and unprofessional, so I'm taking off a star. Otherwise, it's a great hotel.
