Checking in was a hassle, with what felt like a Homeland Security background check. The stay itself was okay, but afterward they claimed two glasses were missing and a towel had a blueberry stain, then kept $67 from the security deposit. Expect to pay about $200 on top of the rate.

I booked The Aloha with my PenFed credit card points, but arrived to find what looked like a closed hotel. There was no staff at the desk, no useful check-in directions, and no way to get into my room. I later found out it was meant to be self check-in, but the system wasn’t working. I tried every number posted at the property or listed online and on the hotel website. Nobody picked up or called back. The laundry room was the only place I could get into, so I ended up sleeping in my car outside overnight. Afterward, I asked for a refund since I never got to stay, and they refused. I rarely give one-star reviews because I know running a business is hard, but taking payment while providing no room access, help, or basic accommodation is unacceptable. I’d be very cautious about booking, especially if you’ll arrive after hours or depend on self check-in. I’ll remove this review if they refund me. If it’s still here, they haven’t.

Don’t let the low price fool you. Take photos of everything. The host leaves you a good AirBnB review, then accuses you of damaging his things after you’ve left. This seems to be his usual practice.

The pool was a nice extra, and Elliot was quick to respond and really helpful. We had a great five-night stay at The Aloha Hotel. Our room was clean and roomy, with a comfortable queen bed and a modern bathroom. The glass shower was great, and the kitchen had the basics. It was a quiet location near downtown Chandler. Elliot’s help made a real difference, and we’d happily stay again. Schuyler Family
