The beds were comfortable, and the location worked well for the family wedding we attended. Beyond that, it was a rough stay. The rooms, common areas, and pool were all filthy. We asked for extra pillows and towels, but they made us return our used towels before giving us clean ones. There weren't any towels by the pool, so we had to take them from our room. The staff was rude and unhelpful. I rarely review a place unless it's a five-star stay, but this one was bad enough that I wanted to warn others. If you can find another hotel nearby, I'd choose it.

Breakfast was awful, and the front desk man was nasty and rude. I called with a few questions and he hung up on me. This was our first trip to MN, and staying here left me deeply upset. We spent a decent amount and got so little in return. If you don't like the work or can't be hospitable, you shouldn't be working at a hotel. They need new management and staff. I wish I hadn't spent my money here, and I'll never come back. Disappointed doesn't cover it, and it didn't deserve even the one star I had to give.

I had no hot running water during my short stay. Housekeeping also knocked as early as 7:00 a.m. and, if there was no answer, would enter even though checkout wasn't until 11:00. I stepped out at 7:00 to drop off a friend and came back around 9:00 to find two housekeepers inside cleaning. They said they had knocked and assumed I'd checked out because I didn't answer. That was unacceptable. During the entry, some of my personal property was stolen. I don't feel this hotel respects guest privacy or provides basic security and professionalism. I wouldn't recommend it, especially to anyone traveling with valuables.

The second room was better, and its heater fan stayed on, which made nice white noise at night. There was no draft from the window there. The sheets were still yellowish and the duvet cover still stained, though less than in the first room. The beds felt a bit firm but were okay. I had specifically asked not to be put on the ground floor because, as a woman, I don't feel that's safe, but that's where we were placed. Room 109 had stained duvet covers, dingy sheets, rotten window sills, and the north wind and storm blew right through. The heater's constant fan didn't work. I posted photos of that first room, then asked for a different one, which they kindly provided. Breakfast was very basic, a letdown after what we'd expected from other reviews. There were scuffs all over the walls, and the hotel felt like it wasn't being looked after overall. I chose it because I stay at the same brand a few hours away every weekend, and that one is much nicer.
