Hampton Inn Washington-Dulles Int'l Airport South

The hotel is still under construction, but it was well worth the stay. We didn't have a car, so staff suggested the nearby air and space Smithsonian and took us there by shuttle. We had a great time. Breakfast was great too, and you could choose regular or blueberry waffles. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Rebecca and the shuttle drivers were amazing. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks!

The airport shuttle was great, and we found the service pleasant and the rooms comfortable. Renovations are underway, though, which makes things inconvenient: there's noise, breakfast arrangements are affected, and the elevator is in use around the work. Once the renovations are finished, I think it'll be fantastic.

The paint smell was overwhelming, and the hammering never seemed to stop. We hadn't been warned about how much construction was happening. Even the elevator ride felt like being in a cargo lift. When I asked to move, I was told all the rooms were like that. I also asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere, but they said that wasn't possible. I've had good stays at Hampton Inn before, but this experience was a huge change for me. I'll look at other hotels next time. For what I paid, I felt taken.

The room was spacious, very clean, and seemed recently updated. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, blankets, and towels. It was a good price, and extending the stay online before arrival was easy. The location worked perfectly for our trip to King Spa, about eight minutes away, and good food and activities were within 15 minutes. I'd check availability here first if we came back. Construction was going on, but the workers were friendly and it didn't get in the way of our stay. It was a little loud during the day, though we were usually out. Ben's attitude was the main reason I gave four stars instead of five. The breakfasts were terrible, though there is a downstairs area for snacks and drinks that's always open, and the water was surprisingly well priced. There are supposed to be ice machines on every floor, but they're only on floors three and five, and nobody tells you at check-in. I also don't see the point of a 24/7 text service when someone isn't actually available that often.
